The secret of making sadhana work faster is through love, to love god from our heart. This means accepting our ignorance ,inability to love god completely, being thankful for all that was given us, treat every one whom we talk interact as our deity ,acceptance our effort will be limited and always due to god grace only can we remember god or reach god. the great Manickavaskar sings" oh lord I remember you due to your grace, I remember you because you want me to remember you, because u want hear the Tamil that is why u make me sing “. I really wish all of us have that kind of humility, understanding and implementation of manickavaskar.
Many so called advaithain forget this and arrogantly say that "god can be understood or we are god". If so many scientists can not fathom physics, fathom chemistry or any art or science, how can it be easy to understand god. Many saints have shed tears and prayed for so many life times so that they it can be easy for them to come out of maya. It is so subtle we do not realize that our mind is deluded. When we do intense sadhana then only we realize that due to god’s grace that our sadhana has taken off and shows results too. It is not due to our effort alone that we can do sadhana. My teacher said “if god can be got due to our effort then god is limited” we can only pray and result is due to grace alone”.
Many sadhakas are abusive in relationships. They have unhappy family life, cunning with their friends, disrespectful towards any one who is a established guru, critical of everyone, and have use and throw attitude. For them manipulation will be a second nature. They do not like any work. Finding fault with everyone’s work will be a pattern in them. In maya every thing is limited so no work will be according to our expectations. My teacher called me once and said lovingly “Gopal if u work for god then every work will bring peace, if u work for boss or for that matter your self it will bring in frustration and you will resign every job. It is not whom u work or what u work that will bring divinity. One can bring in holy presence of divine by playing football or even washing toilet. Learn to work for god. When you pray ask god for help slowly as unconscious ascends higher level then work and praying will not be different.
I asked one advithain " can you show one sadhaka who is living and whow u respect ? he was shocked. Actually they can respect mata amritanadmayi or sathya sai baba. But these people are critical, negative, absolutely arrogant and judgment of these people's work.
Every one is limited, not every one can be every thing to every one. All these saints do more good work than you or me. People around them have become better in character, and peace has come into their life. When you go to temple one will become peaceful because god is worshipped, so when we worship every one as the living deity of any devata or your ishata devate how peaceful our life will become. Some of them say the want love and peace of mind. They speak act think in a manner which will bring unhappiness towards their family members and friends. Ask them if they have said thanks for the help they have got or sorry for their wrong doings, they will give a smirk smile. If one cannot love the parents and bring in peace among family how can any one experience ultimate peace. My teacher told me that treat every one as your guru or your deity. This means being thankful for every one whom we meet or any thing they do. For example if some one where to cook to great lahiri mahaysaya or great sathyananda saraswathi we will be thankful because they gave us a opportunity. But when we cook for family members or do any thing for any one we feel they should be thankful and grateful. Ego comes up. I am great because I do for so and so person. Imagine lord Shiva comes in front of us and says that “I will come in any form or any name. Treat any one respect”. Imagine how we will react. God is love and the great rishis said love is god or god is love which means for the sadhana to take off, we will have to become kind, appreciating positive things, forgiving, helpful, and listening. When we do reverse of these things then sadhana will not pick up.
I went to my teacher he said- wisdom will not dawn in front of you but in front of people who hate you or whom you hate. I am like swimming pool any one can swim with me. It is really the ocean which is difficult. Ocean is hate, sorrow and pain. Convert all these difficult situations and people as sadhana. This means if u are peaceful and happy under these circumstances and people then truly you will see god in every one which includes in yourself “truly wise words I bow to my teacher’s holy feet .
If we do not see god in others how can we see god in ourselves. If we can not love some one close to us how can we love the whole universe. In other words
If we see god in others We see god in ourselves. If we treat people with love We treat god with love
