MODERN MASTERS AND THEIR MYTHS

These are the statements made by famous teachers. We will analyze all the statements without going through their names.
One should not aspire for siddies
One should not ask any thing to god
One should suffer rather than praying for karma to go.
One does not require guru.
Rituals are no use.
We shall deal all these one by one. The reasons being all these statements are anti thesis of the spiritual growth. Now I did not aspire for any siddies. In fact reading these people statement I became very cautious and avoided aspiring siddhies for many years. Then slowly it dawned to me as the meditation deepens one own’s skills, capacity and abilities which we call as siddies will happen on its own. One need not make any attempt. These are just by product of chakras and nadi’s becoming clean due to intense meditation. For example I realized I had vak siddhi when what I said something as a joke it happened many times. So i took care not to waste my speech. Certain psychic ability happens on its own. Now there are people who say that one has to chant karna pischani mantra etc to gain some powers. In my experience these kinds of powers can be opened up with a satvic deity. That is why many people who do hanuman mantra do astrology very well.
Any way coming back to the point the best way to measure one own’s progress in meditation is to see whether any of these minor siddies has opened up. secondly siddies happen step by step, for example some one were to master astral travelling there will be lot of stages and phases one will pass through before one reaches the levels as told in the scriptures. Some one can have siddies in music composing which he or she need not take it seriously. Some people would have practiced in past lives and in this life time it will bloom on its own. Ilayaraja would have worked with music in the past lives so was Bach or Mozart. All genius in some way will have siddies in their work. When one has not meditated and lived life with theory of god then these kind of statement is possible.

One should suffer than to pray for the karma to get resolved- now this statement made me to waste so much of my time that it took years for me to understand that this is just another stupid and vomited theory. Now any suffering is due to ignorance. Now people can ask me- “ignorance of what?” It is the ignorance of my action and reaction that creates the karmic problems. Do not get me wrong. In my family my brother was having psychiatric problems. I used to feel very bad. I prayed and prayed and worked for number of years. Finally I started doing remedial measure according to rules of astrology and I was quite shocked. Nothing dramatic happened. But I got powerful insights on how my own words, actions and behavior were triggering his psychiatric problems. I also understood how my family member’s action and reactions created and triggered his psychiatric problems. It is written in scriptures that if a family does not do tarpana then there will be mental illness in the family. When we started doing tarpana there was enormous changes in his behavior. Many times I have found that people who have money problems will ill-treat their wife and generally are poor in giving. Now when we ask them to do mahalakshmi mantra they will be able to see the reasons for their poverty. Karma does not mean suffering; it means there is energy block and psychic block which is constantly triggering these painful situations in our life. One needs to do the remedial measure to open up our third eye to see the cause of these sufferings.

One should not ask anything to god
Now Christ said seek you shall find, knock it shall be open and ask it shall be given. My teacher used to say that prayers are talking to god. Many times heart felt prayers are answered. These help us to strengthen the faith. Some times people ask beyond there capacity. At least they have faith. Many times I have seen people’s life changing dramatically because god had answered their prayers. One mother came to me and said that she had prayed to god for her son to become better human being and be good. I have seen many men suffer in their life because their parents never pray for them. The entire western world can change if parents start praying. Desire is also point of evolution. To say be desire less is all meaningless. For some, soul desire itself can be triggering point in their spiritual evolution. I have seen many modern masters and when you pray to them or they bless you nothing happens. It is because their energy band width is so low. They will attack sai baba or any one who does good work because these people have never meditated and become a master in urgency in spiritual career.

Now some say no guru is needed in the spiritual life and run away from him. These people will screw up your spiritual career. Their disciples will have no growth. Having a guru is the fastest way to grow and many of my spiritual jumps had come because I met my teacher. My teacher said to me “when you do not have guru then you have not even started your spiritual career”.

Anti rituals – most these people are untrained in these areas. Most of them have very egoistic and inaccurate perceptions of these rituals. I have done research on poojas and homams and found the steps given in the rituals are so logical that it does produce maximum energy impact. For example punya vachnam is kept to cleanse the etheric body of the people. achanam is kept because it can purify the astral part of the speech so that we can chant effectively. Then mental impression in the tongue can be cleansed fast. Tradition is collective knowledge which works in experience.
A man’s child was having psychiatric problems. He was following one advitha guru who had similar views like what I have written. He was suffering so much. His family life was in shambles and I asked him to do nagar pooja. He made a statement which made me feel sad “if self is there where is the suffering”.
Many people say I am spiritually so advanced etc. I just laugh for I never considered myself that way. I used to say that my ass was burning more than others. I grew up very fast in the spiritual life because my family had all kinds of problems. I used spiritual methods which produced excellent results.

I pray to god that may no one be misguided by these so called modern gurus who know how to talk big. I see families and people suffer even though they search of god. They do not have guru, they do not have sadhana and they do not have a regular practice. Most of them are anti-rituals and anti-guru. People sit in the ashrams or they travel miles from different country to go back disappointed.
Another idiotic theory is living in the moment. The speed of mind is used by the divine powers to move into higher realms and open up higher perception. Only idiots and brainless people will live in the moment always. Intelligence people’s mind will move fast. Of course we should not worry too much. That is a different point.
The great advitha guru adi shankar prayed, wrote poetry on form aspect of goddess, had siddies, established temples and wrote bhasyams. In other words he did lot of good work.
Finally many of these so called guru’s claim that enlightenment requires no effort. It is far from truth. It requires effort of many life times. Read the life of Buddha in jataka tales and one will see how he became a bodhi satava. The great ramana bhagwan would have worked for many life times. It did not happen in this birth alone.
God is not just awareness or witnessing or no self. The great madhva charya said you are part of god but you are not god. My teacher used to say if these so called gurus are god why then they are not omni potent, omniscient, omni present, omini knowing or omni loving. That way I appreciate sai baba who made his people do seva or bhajan etc. theories in meditation is far different from practice.

Many of the so called modern masters think women is the root of the problems and misery in a man’s life. I think it is the reverse. Women work hard, they take care of the family, execute their duties and responsibilities and generally try to make people happy. I have seen both historical and recent times women play such a pivotal role in man’s spiritual life. Jesus body was taken after the crucification by two women; one was a prostitute by name Mary Magdalene. Swami Shanthananda was very serious. Many people felt his oxygen plug must be pulled. It was a women doctor who persisted and saved his life. In fact I know a women’s family of 5 sisters who really take care of him.

Swami Madhurananda was given money by his women disciple to build a house. The great milarepa had women dakinis who helped him to complete the sadhana. If you ask me I will depend more on women than on men for sadhana. They are devoted, trust worthy, loyal, very giving and loving. Of course I need to be careful of sexual excesses with them. Many of them will be cautious with their sexual side. Many times I have seen women students dress in a manner which is pleasing to eyes without any sexual over tones. They can dress differently when they go out or when they party. I have seen women energy lifted my sadhana many a times. It is stupidity to even believe man can ascend the higher plans without women love. No wonder for all the deities the rishis have put the consort. In most spiritual schools and ashram women are second class citizen, they will do all the real work and yet they are treated as if sex temptress who needs to be treated with care.
