MIND REQUIRED
FOR MEDITATION.

In some way
meditation can be defined as the conquest of the mind. Mind
patterns, habits ideas need to be conquered. Some of the mind states
which are described below needs to be conquered before you come to
normal.
Mind which is tired- chant and see how
long it takes for you to become fresh. Instead of going to sleep
this is a good exercise for meditation. I assume that readers will
know that meditation brings in higher energy that calms, soothes and
energizes the mind.
Mind which is hungry - focus on some
thing else instead of food. It will be difficult but then it is
worth while.
Mind which wants to sleep- this is a
very important exercise for dream yoga. Try doing it before sleep. I
found many times that I have extra energy and there is no sleep. Of
course it requires effort for more than one and half hour in my
case.
Mind which is emotional and disturbed-
try to calm the mind using the steps of the meditation in metta.
Following are the small recap. Ask for divine help, pray to master
to guide you, think of all good things u have and thank god, try to
think of other person good quality, redefine the experience, try to
think how to make the other person happy, meditate on negative
effects of anger , think of death, think of different kind of
suffering others have and how compared to it yours is small, learn
to accept defeat and offer victory to people.
Mind which is tired after, cinema,
mind which gets tired due to traveling, mind which goes in to
talking mode due to boredom- these are very good moments to exercise
will and control the mind. You will see mental digestion happening
fast and one’s own will, intelligence, knowledge and influence of
mind becoming easier.
