2008 was a great year. The arrival of two books nadi astrology and mundane astrology, my daughter santhosi Lakshmi was the joyous occasion. Death of mother towards the end put a great grief in my heart. I still remember my mother with stern eyes warning me, loving hug, warmth when I use to kiss her cheeks. I dedicate this yearly prediction to her holy feet.

The great tradition of writing yearly prediction left by B.V. Raman was followed by his daughter Gayatri Dev Vasudev. This has stopped due to the stoppage of their astrology magazine and it is great honor to continue the traditions. This is my 7th year on this path. I do not write why because it is tedious. What will be interesting for the common man which many astrologers want to know. They can get a fair idea from my mundane astrology book.

With manmohan singh finishing the 5 year term I can look back as one of the few astrologers who told consistently that he would survive which included the no confidence motion.

War with Pakistan – till the new government takes over nothing can be written about it. As such India will cut off diplomatic ties with Pakistan. At the most some trade links can be cut off. Secondly the relationship can have lot of tension for the moment. Some very aggressive postures can be taken by India. War will never be fought by congress government which jitters about Muslim votes.

Indian economy will be under the recession of the global impact. Jobs losses, late payment of the salary, salary cut will be common. Long hours of work will be common in many sectors. As such the worst hit will be Indian information technology, BPO, tourism, travel, housing construction motor and vehicle industry. The export oriented units like textiles, fashion, and diamonds will be having problems in common.

Inflation will be well down and once a while it can go up. Well in control compare to last year. It will be less than 6-7 % most of the time.

Indian rupee will be stronger with dollar. It will be around Rs. 48- 52 range.

Oil prices in the world will be in control after the June. Also it will be well below the 50 dollars range. Government will continue to cut petrol, diesel, kerosene and LPG prices from the current level at least 3 more times.

Loan distribution – though the government has put orders, the credit market will be tight due to various factors. The bank real lending will start only after the oct 2009 onwards when the sun dasa starts. From then on it will be easier.-

Crash in the prices of the land in all sectors will be very common. This will put lot of mortgages and repayment in to problems. For the first time in Indian history credit card holders and those who have house loan will find it difficult to pay back. Defaulters will be very high.

Medical industry tourism will start doing very well in many ways. This is due to the start of sun dasa.-

New political leaders will come due to sun dasa. Over the period of next two years, old leaders in party will get replaced with young Turks. Narendra modi. Maywati etc will start coming in to more focus.

Airlines industry will have lot of problems in the early part of the year.

Stock markets – the Indian bull market and run is over. Do not waste time and believe in the TV news. The market can go well below 7000 in BSE terms.

The price of gold will increase and can even reach over 12,000 per ten gram.

The congress government in the centre will get thrashed in the lok sabha elections.

Locally DMK will get thrashed. AIADMK will gain lot of grounds. The chief minister karunanidhi will continue rule Tamilnadu. Every astrologer who predicted his death should note there is a very good chance that he can live over ninety years.

The usual problem of terrorist attacking some towns will be common. This year the attacks will be less. That is all.

The LTTE will be have a tough year. They will come too close to getting whipped out.

Gaza will continue to burn and Israel will be in no mood to forgive any Muslim assaults like India.

Indian cricket will be on the ascension peak with more victory in the world level.-

Chess tennis badminton will have reasonable good year.

The film industry kant in tamil films and khans in the bollywood will continue to rule. Some international recognition for few artists will be common. The recognition of the world of Indian film talent can be common.
